I am a postgraduate research student at the University of Gloucestershire. Until quite recently, I was the CEO of a local deaf charity. The experience of my ten years there was both eye-opening and rewarding, and it left me with a lasting impression. When I eventually left and took up the opportunity to study for PhD, I knew it would have to be about the role of deaf charities today.
